HENRICO, V.A. – U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger today announced the details for a county-wide town hall in Powhatan County in August. This event will be her ninth county-wide town hall in Virginia’s Seventh District this year.

Spanberger is keeping her promise to hold a town hall in each of the 10 counties of Central Virginia that she represents. So far, she has held open, community-focused town halls in Goochland, Spotsylvania, Nottoway, Henrico, Louisa, and Amelia. Next week, she will hold town halls in Chesterfield and Culpeper.

The details for Spanberger’s Powhatan County town hall are as follows:

WHEN: Saturday, August 3, 2:00-3:00 pm

WHERE: Village Building Auditorium

ADDRESS: 3910 Old Buckingham Road, Powhatan, VA 23139

“Next week, I will be in three different Central Virginia counties for three different town hall events. I’m looking forward to hearing from constituents in Chesterfield, Culpeper, and Powhatan and discussing the issues impacting our schools, workplaces, checkbooks, and doctor’s visits,” said Spanberger. “As always, this event will be an open opportunity for Central Virginians to ask me questions directly, hear an update on the work I’m doing in the House, and speak with our team about any issues they are experiencing with a federal government program or benefit. I’m honored to represent a district with such engaged, civically active citizens, and I look forward to speaking with many constituents in the coming weeks.”

In addition to answering questions from constituents, Spanberger will deliver a progress-check on her recent legislative efforts, including her bipartisan trip to the southern border; the passage of her resolution to block dangerous weapons sales to Saudi Arabia; her bipartisan bill to intensify efforts to address drug trafficking, human trafficking, and human smuggling in Central America; and her successful effort to crack down on the distribution of child pornography on government-affiliated networks.
