CBS19: Spanberger joins bipartisan group in Kyiv

CBS19

Abigail Spanberger, who represents Virginia’s 7th District in Congress, joined fellow U.S. House Intelligence Committee members on a bipartisan visit to Ukraine.

In Kyiv, Spanberger and her colleagues met with U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The group discussed the ongoing war in Ukraine and underscored the need for continued aid to fight Russia’s invasion.

“We have seen the successes of Ukraine as Ukraine has won back more than 50 percent of the land that Russia has taken since their invasion two years ago,” Spanberger said. “This is impressive. It is important. And we see it and recognize it. And it is for that reason that we want to continue supporting.”

Spanberger was joined on the trip by Ohio’s Mike Turner, Colorado’s Jason Crow, Arizona’s French Hill and Iowa’s Zach Nunn.
