**The deadline to submit all appropriations requests to Rep. Spanberger’s office is Friday, April 9**
This year, the House Appropriations Committee is accepting two different types of appropriations requests: traditional appropriations requests (which include program funding, bill language, and report language) and Community Project Funding requests. The Community Project Funding process is new this year, and will target federal funding towards projects and programs that will address the most significant needs facing individual communities.
Traditional appropriations requests pertain to federal government spending in general. Community Project Funding requests pertain to a project in a specific community that has broad local support. For example: if you would like to see the federal government spend more money nationwide on rural broadband access or cancer research, that is a traditional appropriations request. If you are looking for funding to expand broadband access in a specific community, or a grant for cancer research to be conducted by a specific university, that is a Community Project Funding request.

The deadline to submit both types of requests to our office – traditional appropriations requests and Community Project Funding requests – is Friday, April 9, 2021.
Thank you for your interest in engaging with our office on the Fiscal Year 2022 appropriations process. It is important that Rep. Spanberger hear directly from constituents about the federal funding priorities that are most important to you and our communities across Virginia’s Seventh District.
