HENRICO, V.A. — U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger today released the following statement for Thanksgiving Day 2022.

“Thanksgiving is a time for families to be together, count their blessings, and fill their homes with love and laughter. While I am wishing all our neighbors in the Seventh District and across Virginia a joyful holiday, I am also holding in my heart every family that is coming together for their first holiday without a loved one, grappling with financial uncertainty, or experiencing loss — like the families of those recently killed at the University of Virginia and at a Walmart in Chesapeake.

“As families gather for food and festivities, I hope we also take a moment to remember and thank the many servicemembers, first responders, law enforcement officers, and healthcare workers who will not have the opportunity to celebrate in person with loved ones this Thanksgiving. Because of their service and commitment to our communities, we can enjoy this holiday season while remaining strong, safe, and healthy.”
