Spanberger Statement Ahead of Thanksgiving Day
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger today released the following statement ahead of Thanksgiving Day.
“Thanksgiving is an opportunity to gather with our dearest loved ones, share memories and laughter, and reflect on our blessings. But this day also serves as a reminder to all Virginians to extend a hand to our neighbors who are experiencing hardship and extend our gratitude to the many Americans who sacrifice for us to enjoy our way of life.
“As many of our neighbors gather around the table with loved ones, I hope all Virginians take time to remember those who make our celebrations possible. Whether stationed at home or abroad, many servicemembers and National Guard soldiers will spend the holiday far away from loved ones. Many first responders, law enforcement officers, and healthcare workers will miss out on time spent with family and instead work long, odd hours to be there when their neighbors need them. And let’s not forget the farmers, producers, and farm workers who make it possible for us to share a wonderful meal.
“This Thanksgiving and every day, I’m deeply grateful for the privilege of serving Virginia’s Seventh District. I hope all of our neighbors are able to celebrate this holiday with friends, family, and community. As we head into the holiday season, I’m wishing all Virginians a joyful and safe Thanksgiving.”
