Spanberger Statement Ahead of Labor Day 2023

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger today released the following statement ahead of Labor Day 2023.

“This weekend, we recognize the contributions of the Virginia workers who keep our communities, our Commonwealth, and our country strong.

“Labor Day honors the efforts and sacrifices of the hardworking Americans who built our nation. From establishing the federal minimum wage to securing safety standards, previous generations of workers fearlessly fought to ensure many of the rights that are protected today.

“This Labor Day, I’m proud to stand in solidarity with the workers who help make Virginia the best place to live, work, start a business, and raise a family. In Congress, I will continue my commitment to Virginia workers by supporting the unions that serve them, working with employers to promote family-sustaining jobs, and expanding workforce training programs for the next generation. I’m wishing all Virginians a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.”
