A Virginia lawmaker has introduced a new bipartisan bill aimed at stopping the spread of child pornography on government networks.

Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger and Mark Meadows, a congressman from North Carolina, introduced the bill to specifically target the U.S. Department of Defense.

A 2018 study found the Defense Department’s network ranked 19th out of 2,891 networks across the country in peer-to-peer file trading of child porn.

The goal of the bill is to provide training and resources to help the Pentagon crack down on the misuse of its network.
