On Monday, the Fredericksburg Nationals were recognized on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives for their first-ever Carolina League title since moving to Fredericksburg.

U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger (Va.) congratulated the FredNats on their victory in the Carolina League Championship Series last week, defeating the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, 2-1, in a best-of-three series.

“I rise today to recognize the Fredericksburg Nationals for winning the Carolina League baseball championship,” Spanberger said. “… This run was no easy task, and at every game, the FredNats showed us that championships are won with passion, grit, and teamwork.”

This occurred a day before Elijah Green and Travis Sykora were honored at Nationals Park as part of the organization’s MiLB award winners for the 2024 season.
