FREDERICKSBURG FREE-LANCE STAR

Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank’s major holiday distribution, Turkeys & Toys, served approximately 1,000 families and distributed enough food for about 65,000 meals. Dozens of volunteers engaged in supporting the food bank’s entire staff in the execution of this major distribution.

Cars lined up as early as 5 a.m. Distribution of items began at 9:30 a.m. and lasted until 3 p.m., when all food supplies were exhausted and only a few toys remained.

Among those volunteering were Fredericksburg Mayor-elect Kerry Devine, Fredericksburg Council Member-elect Will Mackintosh, State Delegate Phillip Scott and Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger.
