CULPEPER STAR-EXPONENT
An open telephone town hall focused on public safety concerns will be held at 7:30 p.m. tonight, at 833/380-0670, spanberger.house.gov/live or on Rep. Abigail Spanberger’s Facebook page.
Culpeper Police Chief Chris Settle with join Prince William County Police Chief Peter Newsham to take questions directly from Seventh District residents, gather their feedback and address their concerns.
Spanberger will provide updates on legislative efforts to keep Virginia communities safe, prevent gun violence, tackle the overdose crisis and provide law enforcement with the tools they need to do their jobs effectively, according to a release from her office.
“Public safety must be one of the top priorities of all public officials — whether at the local, state or federal level.” said Spanberger. “Tuesday evening is an opportunity for Virginians to raise their concerns, provide their feedback and ask questions about how their public officials are working to keep their neighborhoods, families and children safe.
“As the congressional representative for Virginia’s Seventh District, I have the honor of representing many local law enforcement officers who work hard every day to protect our communities. I’m grateful that Chief Settle and Chief Newsham will be joining me to share their expertise and insight — and I encourage all Virginians with questions about public safety, law enforcement and more to attend,” Spanberger said.
