Virginia’s 7th District Representative and current candidate for governor, Abigail Spanberger, was in Bedford Thursday, honoring those who courageously fought on D-Day.

“Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to these brave soldiers — including Virginians from the 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division,” she said in a social media post that was posted today at the event.

She also posted a collage of photos from when she was at Normandy in 2019 for the 75th anniversary.

“We remember the brothers, sons, husbands, and fathers who ran toward danger and altered the course of history,” said Spanberger.
